The Changing the Model Blog is an initiative of the United Community Services Co-op to develop, and share factual data and tools related to the upcoming change in the Employment Services model and prepare non-profit organizations for successful proposals in the Spring of 2011.

In the last number of months, the UCS Co-op has engaged with a number of organizations about the proposed changes to the Employment Program of B.C.  A number of questions and issues arose out of these conversations:

• Clarifying information in the RFI related to payment structures, methods, and partnerships
• Extrapolating an annual outlook over the long-term in an economically unpredictable world
• Engaging in conversations with peers and business analysts
• Searching for business analysis tools

During this process the Co-op also learned about key differences between the current and new models and developed a Financial Modeling Tool (FMT).
